We're Back!

Hello All!

After a month long break...
a gorgeous newborn granddaughter...
and our niece's beautiful wedding...
we are excited to be back
in our usual spot at
Salt Lake City's Farmer's Market.

I am introducing some new vintage images
to our already existing line of great Halloween pendants...
and look forward to sharing them all with you at the market.

I am posting some of the new Halloween
pendant images here today...
as well as some interesting tidbits
about black cats...
a beautiful creature associated with Halloween.

In Great Britain, Ireland and Japan black cats symbolize good luck.
In Scotland a strange black cat's arrival
on a home's doorstep
was the bearer of prosperity.

The Pilgrims believed that black cats were part demon and
part sorcerer and the close companions of witches -
anyone caught with a black cat would be severely punished or even killed.

Historically black cats have been viewed as
both a symbol of bad luck and evil...
and good luck and prosperity -
depending on the circumstances!

In Germany people believed that if a black cat
crossed your path from right to left
it is a bad sign of things to come...
but if it crosses from left to right
it is a sign that all good things are coming your way.
Sailors from Europe
preferred that the 'ship's cat'
was black because it would bring good luck
and often their wives
would keep black cats
at home as well,
in the hope that the black cat's
good luck would keep
their husbands safe while at sea.

During the 19th century,
Pirates believed that a black cat
would bring different kinds of luck.
-If a black cat walks towards someone,
that person will have bad luck.
-If a black cat walks away from someone
then that person will have good luck.
-If a black cat walks onto a ship and then walks off it,
the ship is doomed to sink on its next trip!

So you all...
beware of black cats
the next time you go sailing
on a pirate ship!
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Hope to see you tomorrow!
Terry
