Awesome Autumn!

I love Fall! Maybe that’s why Halloween is my favorite holiday! I have been delighted to learn that many of my customers share that same love!
Halloween's origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain(pronounced sow-in). November 1st marked the Celts new year – and  they believed that on the eve of the new year, the boundary between the living world and the spirit world became blurred.
The eve of the new year, October 31st, was when  the ghosts of the dead returned to earth…during their visit  they would cause trouble and disturbances and damage crops.
The plus side to the spirits visits was that their presence was believed to help the Druid Priests make positive predictions about the clan’s future …which provided a great source of comfort and hope during the long, dark winter…a time filled with the highest rate of death. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction.
In honor of the season I am sharing some vintage Halloween images I use in my wearable art pendant line.
Most of these images will be available as pendants at both the SLC Farmer’s Market at Pioneer Park on Saturday and the Wasatch Farmer’s Market held at Wheeler Farm on Sunday.  Wheeler Farm’s Market hours have been changed for October…they are 9am-2pm.
Please note:  I will not be at either market on October 15th & 16th
as I will be out of town.

NEW  MARKET UPDATE:
My pieces will be available for sale at the Finch Lane Gallery’s Holiday Market December 3rd-18th.
This is a wonderfully cozy spot to view many of SLC’s finest artists…a fun place to go Holiday Shopping!
The Finch Lane Gallery address is:
Finch Lane and Park Galleries | Art Barn in Reservoir Park
1340 East 100 South | 801.596.5000
